Junior String Orchestra 

The Junior String Orchestra (BYJST) is a beginning ensemble for young string players who demonstrate a good foundation in playing technique and note-reading. Rehearsals emphasize establishing rhythm and sight reading skills, as well as rehearsal etiquette and performance skills. Junior Strings is comprised of students through Grade 7. This ensemble rehearses on Monday evenings at Norview Middle School from 5:45-6:45pm (October thru May).


  • Due to COVID-19, BYOV will not be conducting live auditions this summer. Applications and videos will be submitted through the online audition platform Accept’d.
  • Our first audition deadline was June 1. Another round of auditions for open instruments will be due August 31. To submit your audition application and materials, visit https://app.getacceptd.com/byov
  • NEEDED INSTRUMENTS: Violin and Viola
