Symphony Orchestra Members’ Area

BYSO rehearses on Monday evenings from 6:30-9:00pm (September thru May) at Norview High School, located at 6501 Chesapeake Blvd, Norfolk, VA 23513. **Park in the lot off of Middleton Place beside the tennis courts. Walk up past the roundabout and enter the school through the left set of doors facing Middleton Place. DO NOT PARK OR STAND IN THE ROUNDABOUT**

ANNOUNCEMENTS!

  • The first rehearsal for BYSO is on Monday, August 28 from 6:30-9:00pm at Ohef Sholom Temple, located at 530 Raleigh Ave, Norfolk, VA 23507. This early rehearsal is necessary since the Side by Side with the Virginia Symphony is early this season (October!). Download map of Ohef Sholom Temple and parking information.
  • Regular, weekly rehearsals for BYSO begin on Monday, September 11! We will begin with rehearsal followed by a short parent/student orientation, and meet the staff at 8:30pm in the Norview High School Auditorium.
  • Concerto Competition registration is now open! The deadline to apply is October 2 and the competition will take place on Saturday, November 4. Learn more!

Pay Tuition

BYOV is committed to providing the most comprehensive music education experience for its members at an affordable tuition for the session. We are confident that our premier ensemble training program is an excellent value and investment in your young musician’s growth.

There has been a 5% increase in tuition for the 2023-2024 season. Tuition rates are based on number of rehearsals, rehearsal length, number of performances, venue costs, and instructional/operational costs for each ensemble.

The tuition for the 2023-2024 Season in BYSO is $700.
